Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”

―Viktor E. Frankl

Why Integrative psychotherapy..?

Change is the only constant in life and psychotherapy can provide support and strategies to manage stress and adjust to new circumstances. We all face crises and confusion at times, and I believe you are here because your life isn't quite as you would like to be. Worry, doubt, fear, anger, suffering in all its forms, are all part of the reality of being human. You don't have to face the challenges of life in isolation. There's a space for compassionate dialogue where all your thoughts, emotions, worries, can have a say so you can decide your next step.

The integrative approach of psychotherapy offers flexibility and tailors therapy to best serve specific needs and goals. It provides a framework where concepts and therapy interventions are combined from more than one theoretical psychotherapy approach. This allows for a more strategic response to particular issues and provides a better fit between a person's goals and effective interventions. The aim is to ensure that all dimensions of a person’s being and functioning: cognitive, affective, behavioural and physiological health, are maximised to their full potential. It is the process of making whole. The therapeutic alliance is a central element which provides an active collaboration that supports you to create the change you want.

Individual psychotherapy provides an empathic, confidential space to freely express your concerns, fears and emotions knowing you are heard and supported. It’s an opportunity to explore your thoughts, address your worries and gain insight into the underlying causes of suffering to develop healthier coping strategies.

The circumstances we were exposed to caused us to develop various defense mechanisms that were helpful at that time but became less and less effective through the years. Through self-exploration and openness we can identify the factors that are perpetuating issues and limit psychological freedom. Recognize what are the specific triggers that cause disruptive patterns of behaviour and increase awareness so you can choose what is more aligned with your direction. You can learn and try out different coping skills to manage stress and regulate emotions to better navigate life’s challenges.

Through the process of psychotherapy you will gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your values and your aspirations. Self-reflection will allow for personal growth, enhanced self-awareness and the development of a stronger sense of identity. The therapeutic space supports you in choosing healthier habits that unlock your potential and move you in the direction of a more meaningful life.
